Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Event: The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince advises U.S. citizens of ongoing security operations south of the embassy in Pernier, Torcel, and Croix-de-Bouquets. Heavy gunfire and explosions are reported in the area.
A number of key routes between the embassy and Petion Ville, including Rue des Freres, are currently blocked by the Haitian National Police. Traffic is congested. The embassy remains open for emergency services.
