Position Overview:
The Haitian Diaspora Network is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Diaspora Liaison Officer to join our team as a volunteer. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between the Haitian Diaspora and local communities, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of local and diaspora dynamics, and a commitment to making a positive impact in Haiti.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their needs and build strong relationships.
Advocacy Programs: Set up and manage advocacy programs that address key issues and promote the mission of the Haitian Diaspora Network.
Leadership Development: Collaborate with students and professors to develop future leaders through workshops, mentorship, and support of the Young Haitian Leaders initiative.
Anti-Corruption Efforts: Identify and challenge corruption, working closely with local leaders to ensure transparency and accountability in various sectors.
Policy Development: Develop and promote policies that support the mission of the Haitian Diaspora Network, advocating for change at local and international levels.
Program Implementation: Design and implement programs that align with the goals of the Haitian Diaspora Network, including leadership development and anti-corruption efforts.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with local and international stakeholders to foster partnerships and drive collaborative efforts.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Deep understanding of local and diaspora dynamics.
Proven experience in community engagement, advocacy, and program management.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, professors, local leaders, and international stakeholders.
Commitment to transparency, accountability, and making a positive impact in Haiti.
Fluency in French and Creole is highly desirable.
