Our mission is to harness the collective strength, talent, and resources of Haitians worldwide to foster sustainable development through education and capacity building in our homeland.
Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Education and Capacity Building department. This volunteer position is ideal for someone who has a deep love for Haiti, aligns with our ideology, and is committed to transparency and honesty. The Head of Education and Capacity Building will play a crucial role in driving initiatives that enhance educational opportunities and build the capacity of individuals and communities in Haiti.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve education and capacity building in Haiti.
- Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to identify and address educational needs.
- Lead and manage a team of volunteers and professionals dedicated to education and capacity building projects.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy recommendations and strategic initiatives.
- Advocate for policies and practices that support educational equity and capacity building in Haiti.
- Foster relationships with key partners, including government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in all department activities and initiatives.
- Represent The Haitian Diaspora Network at relevant events, conferences, and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in education, capacity building, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Haiti’s educational landscape and development challenges.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency, honesty, and ethical practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for Haiti and a deep understanding of the Haitian Diaspora Network’s mission and values.
- Fluency in English and Haitian Creole (preferred).
