About Us: The Haitian Diaspora Network is a dedicated movement working towards the unification and development of Haiti. Our mission is to harness the collective strength, talent, and resources of Haitians worldwide to advocate for policy changes that benefit both the Haitian diaspora and Haiti.
Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Advocacy and Policy Reform department. This volunteer position is ideal for someone who has a deep love for Haiti, aligns with our ideology, and is committed to transparency and honesty. The Head of Advocacy and Policy Reform will play a crucial role in driving initiatives that promote policy changes and reforms to support the development and well-being of Haitians both in the diaspora and in Haiti.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic advocacy plans to promote policy changes that benefit the Haitian diaspora and Haiti.
- Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to identify key policy issues and opportunities for reform.
- Lead and manage a team of volunteers and professionals dedicated to advocacy and policy reform projects.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy recommendations and strategic initiatives.
- Advocate for policies and practices that support social equity, economic development, and community well-being in Haiti.
- Foster relationships with key partners, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in all department activities and initiatives.
- Represent The Haitian Diaspora Network at relevant events, conferences, and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in advocacy, policy reform, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Haiti’s political and social landscape.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency, honesty, and ethical practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for Haiti and a deep understanding of the Haitian Diaspora Network’s mission and values.
- Fluency in English and Haitian Creole (preferred).
