About Us: The Haitian Diaspora Network is dedicated to promoting the interests and activities of the Haitian community both locally and internationally. Our mission is to foster unity, support, and development within the Haitian diaspora, while also engaging with international communities to build strong, positive relationships.
Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated volunteer to join our team as a Communications and Public Relations Volunteer. This role is crucial in promoting the Haitian Diaspora Network’s activities and engaging with both the Haitian community and international audiences. The ideal candidate will align with the philosophy, ideology, and vision of the Haitian Diaspora Network, demonstrating a deep love for Haiti, transparency, and honesty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the Haitian Diaspora Network’s activities and initiatives.
- Engage with the Haitian community and international audiences through various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Create compelling content that highlights the Network’s mission, events, and achievements.
- Monitor and respond to public and media inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Organize and participate in virtual events and campaigns to raise awareness and support for the Network’s goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the Haitian culture and community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and other digital communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity, transparency, and honesty.
- Passion for promoting the Haitian Diaspora Network’s mission and values.
